The operation works by altering the position of the muscles that control brow shape and position. This is an extremely precise procedure that allows for individual fine adjustments of brow position and contour. It also softens the appearance of forehead lines and wrinkles. The surgery takes about one and a half hours to perform and is usually done under monitored intravenous sedation administered by a board-certified anesthesiologist.
