This “short-scar” facelift is applicable to relatively younger patients in their mid-forties to mid-fifties who have early but significant signs of facial aging. This procedure differs from the traditional facelift because the “mini-facelift” involves skin excision only.

The “short-scar” facelift involves deep-layer support, a primarily vertical lifting of the skin and correction of some neck laxity. Patients with severe neck laxity that requires extensive correction will still be better served by a traditional face lift and neck lift. However, for the appropriate candidate, the “short-scar” facelift procedure can also incorporate fat grafting to the face, as well as eyelid surgery. As a result, the mini facelift Newport Beach patient can receive a dramatic improvement with less extensive surgery and therefore a quicker recovery.

This procedure is usually done under local anesthesia supplemented by intravenous sedation administered by the anesthesiologist.
